12 South is one of our favorite neighborhoods in Nashville. There are several different dining, shopping, and wellness options that make it unique. There is also a nice mix of historic, renovated, and new homes as well. This Nashville neighborhood is very walkable which is a selling point for many people who choose to buy and live there. We have a few places in this area that we particularly love, so we thought we would share.
Locust
Y’all like dumplings? If so, this is the place for you. Locust is a fairly new spot in the neighborhood, but you won’t want to miss it! Make sure to leave room for dessert, too, as they have shaved ice that is unlike any other.
Sevier Park
Needing to get outside? Sevier Park is a great place to hang with your friends, have a picnic, birthday party, or just a place to sit and read outside for an afternoon. At their Community Center, they have a full gymnasium, fitness center, and offer group fitness classes if you’re looking for that!
White’s Mercantile
If you’re wanting to shop but keep it local, White’s Mercantile might be the place for you. Located right next to Sevier Park, you can find household goods, food, pet items, clothes for your kids and yourself, and apothecary items such as lotions and bath soaps.
12 South Taproom and Grill
Whether you’re looking to get a quick bite to eat or a happy hour with friends, this is a great spot to visit. They have several different types of beer on draft and some great food options as well!
Urban Grub
If you are wanting to go to a more upscale restaurant in the neighborhood, Urban Grub is fantastic! They have a raw bar if you like oysters, charcuterie options, and other southern specialties such as steak and biscuits and ribs.
There are plenty of other fun places to visit in the neighborhood, so we suggest taking an afternoon or evening and walking around! If you’re interested in looking at houses in the neighborhood, reach out!
